It was nearly 14 years ago that Steve Bartman went from normal Chicago Cubs fan to public enemy No. 1. In the years since his perceived interference with a foul ball at the 2003 National League Championship Series, Bartman has largely stayed out of the public eye. Now in the wake of the club’s first championship since 1908, the Cubs and Bartman hope to put the past behind them. Cubs owner Tom Ricketts presented Bartman with his very own World Series ring. The man who was once believed to have halted the Cubs’ quest for a World Series is officially a World Series champion.
