Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 went missing on March 8, 2014. On December 17, 2016, that search was officially called off. The flight was traveling from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing, China, when it went missing. In the years since, the Malaysian, Chinese, and Australian governments have spent $160 million dollars searching for the plane in the Indian Ocean. But they have failed to find the wreckage or any clues as to what caused the plane to go down. More than 20 pieces of the aircraft have shown up along the coast of Africa. But it is possible the airline industry will never know what happened to this plane nor will family members of the 239 passengers have closure.
