That body of work earned him the first-ever Decade Award at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards. While the ceremony was mostly a fun showcase of awards voted on by fans aged 13-19, Timberlake chose to get serious in his acceptance speech. He spoke about the late boxing legend Muhammad Ali, and how his determination to become a champion should be inspirational to people everywhere. Timberlake also talked about diversity, and how even though people are different, they all share the same goals. At the time of the ceremony, Timberlake’s latest single, “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” was at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
