Study: City Birds Might Be Smarter Than Country Birds

After being pestered by an aggressive bird at a city restaurant, PhD candidate Jean-Nicholas Audet was inspired to study how city birds might differ from birds who live in the country. The study looked at birds who lived in Barbados, an island in the Caribbean. City birds were found to be more bold and better problem solvers. Their immune systems were also more resistant to disease. In conclusion, the study indicates that city birds have learned to find few in new and challenging places.
