The NFL has been the king of television ratings for a while, setting a new high for viewers last season. And that trend shows no signs of slowing down at the halfway point of the 2015 season. Ratings are up for NFL broadcasts across the board, but some are outperforming others. CBS is averaging 18.5 million viewers for its games, the highest number in 29 years. Sunday Night Football on NBC is averaging 23.6 million viewers, making it the highest-rated TV program of any kind this fall. In total, NFL broadcasts this season make up not only the top 10, but 19 of the top 20 highest rated programs on TV. In comparison, Game 5 of the World Series was beaten by three NFL games in the week that it aired.
