Behind just about anything you do on a computer is a set of instructions called source code. People who know how to write that code are becoming increasingly valuable in the 21st century. That’s why President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden joined a group of middle school students from New Jersey to take part in the “Hour of Code” campaign as part of Computer Science Education Week. During his time with the students, President Obama helped write a line of code that animated a character from the film “Frozen.” In doing so, he became the first president to write a line of code. President Obama hopes his example will help raise awareness for computer science in schools.
