The Internet may soon become a cyber toll road. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is pushing new rules allowing heavier Internet regulation. The FCC believes the government should be more aware of what is happening on the World Wide Web.

But large companies like Google, Netflix, and Facebook are fighting the rules, saying that Internet service providers could charge for a “fast lane,” which could lead to discrimination and hurt small companies that can’t afford the costs.
